At Alderbrook, we pride ourselves on being able to offer care for adults with the most challenging of behavioural needs such as distress, confusion or violence.  We have a track record of success where someone has had a failed placement in the past. Our team are trained and experienced in working with adults to help improve their quality of life and reinstall a sense of wellbeing.

FAQ'S

At Alderbrook Care Home, Silver Lodge, we support adults living with complex and challenging care needs due to dementia.

  • Each resident is assessed face to face by the management team or nurses.
  • A full pre admission assessment is completed
  • Feedback is given to the care provider and or family and fee’s discussed, then a show round is encouraged with family and or friends
  • Any equipment required is ordered and an agreed date of admission made

Due to the complex care needs of the adults we support we assess each service-user on a case-by-case basis. 

Every service user is assessed prior to admission and their own person-centred care plan created to ensure their needs are met. 

There is a qualified nurse on duty at all times, care staff numbers are based on resident dependencies and care needs.

Care staff are joined by the wider home team including the Home Manager and deputy, kitchen team, domestics, maintenance and activity coordinators.

At Alderbrook, we have a dedicated activities team on hand to deliver daily, meaningful activities for our service users.  Due to the complexity of care needs and challenging behaviours, activities can be delivered in group sessions or on a one-to-one basis.  Activities include but are not limited to bingo, crafts, singing and dancing.  We also use different types of calming therapies such as doll therapy to support our service users and ease any feelings of distress or anxiety.

At present Alderbrook has 40 beds in Silver Lodge.

A further 120 beds will be available throughout 2025.
