Our team are widely experienced and deeply passionate about supporting people living with dementia. We understand the complexities that come with the many different types of dementia – from memory loss and disorientation to changes in mood and behaviour – and we tailor our care accordingly. Each resident is treated as an individual, with respect for their history, their preferences, and their dignity.

We know that dementia can bring moments of anxiety or distress, particularly as symptoms progress. That’s why our environment is calm, structured and reassuring, with trained staff always close by to offer support. Through meaningful routines, sensory therapies and thoughtful communication, we create a setting where people can feel secure and understood.

Mental health shapes the way a person thinks, feels and connects with the world around them. At Alderbrook, we care for adults with complex and long-standing mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder, offering tailored support that focuses on emotional and psychological wellbeing as well as physical health.

Our experienced team of mental health nurses and healthcare professionals take time to understand each resident’s triggers, coping strategies and personal goals. We build care plans that promote stability, reduce distress and offer a sense of structure, while also helping people to maintain their independence and rebuild confidence at their own pace.

 

We provide expert care for adults living with physical disabilities, including those recovering from life-changing injuries or neurological conditions. Whether someone is permanently living with us or here for a period of rehabilitation, we focus on what matters most to them – whether that’s gaining strength, regaining independence or simply enjoying the best quality of life possible.

Support is practical and empowering. We offer physiotherapy-based exercises, personal care, specialist equipment and one-to-one emotional support. Our home is fully equipped to meet mobility needs, and we adapt everything from daily routines to activities to ensure everyone can take part and feel included.

 

Some residents at Alderbrook require full-time nursing support for serious or ongoing medical conditions. Our complex nursing care is delivered by a skilled team of registered nurses and care staff, trained to meet a wide range of clinical needs – from managing long-term conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease to supporting end-of-life care with sensitivity and compassion.

With a nurse on site 24 hours a day, we ensure residents receive safe, consistent and high-quality medical support, as well as all the personal care they need to feel comfortable and at ease. We take pride in delivering clinical excellence in a setting that still feels homely, warm and human – because even in the most complex cases, every person deserves to feel like they belong.
